Prayer Altar: September 2021
Athens, GA
"when we burn a candle made from beeswax, the light that was entwined within it is released. Thus the alchemical circle is completed. Except that it is not so much a circle as a lemniscate and it is never quite completed, because the end is ever so subtly different from the beginning. And the end leads to yet another lemniscate, which has moved on just a little from the first, in a creative dance that weaves a new reality."
Gareth John, 'Spirit of the Hive'
The September Prayer Altar’s theme is, “Love is Everywhere.”
Each person who signs up is held in prayer every morning for a month.
When they place themselves, or are placed on the altar by a loved one, I light a beeswax candle for them; write their name on paper or a card that is folded/not visible in photos of the altar; and place a stone or crystal into the bowl that I have attuned for that specific person.
Each morning one or more candles are lit on the altar, prayers are made, clearing work is done, and the altar then carries the energy of the prayers forward.
There are no specific prayers on the altar. Those can be held by each person, if they so choose. I pray for Greatest good, best outcome, and a clear, clean, and current path for each person. I send love. And I hold the space.
Four Oaks Sanctuary, Chesapeake, VA
For September I am praying the Dine’ (Navajo) Blessingway Prayer each day in honor of those who are held on the altar.
I will: write your name on a card or piece of paper which will be on the altar. This month you will see Dolly Parton, this is the card with the names inside. She is such an amazing woman and appropriate to these mountains where the September altar will open. These names will not be visible in photos.
On the first day I will light a prayer candle for each person on the altar. Each person who comes in later will also have one of these candles lit when they are added to the altar.
Each morning I will pray, clear, and light one candle for the whole altar which will be allowed to burn (so long as it is safe) until it burns out.
I travel often. The altar will change when I travel. The card with the names, and the stones encoded with the names and frequency of those who have placed themselves on this altar will always come with me. The rest of the altar will shift and be rebuilt when I land in a new space. For example, I'm leaving Weds to stay the night with my daughter in Athens GA. The altar will leave the mountain farm, Innisfree, and go to Athens and be made again there for the night. Next morning, after prayers, it will go into a case and move again from Athens to my home in Chesapeake where it will remain for the rest of September.
Where I go, the altar goes. Where the altar goes, the prayers for you and your beloveds goes.
Simple enough.
Thanks to everyone who paid 'Friends and Family', I appreciate it. PayPal takes nearly $1 of the $11!
If you have questions, reach out. If you have specific prayers, please hold them in your heart or write them down and place them on your own altar. I don't need to know them--I'm simply praying for your Highest Good, Best Outcomes, and clearing the way for these to come to pass.
I'm always open to hearing your stories, especially if this shifts something for you! I pray that it does.
Elements included on the altar:
Beeswax candles. I am both a beekeeper and a Practitioner of the ancient ways of the Shamanic Bee Tradition of Europe. Calling in the light of the sun, the sweetness of the hive, and the Unity of a hive of bees comes though these candles. I will also use other candles—often a 7-day candle that I’m comfortable allowing to burn all day creating light and clearing with fire.
Angels. I align with angels often and feel that they represent guardianship, safety, and an impersonal holding.
Flowers and herbs. This month the altar begun with boneset and Jerusalem artichoke flowers. Boneset is a favorite of pollinators and grows wild in many places in Virginia and North Carolina. Other places, as well, but these places I know for sure. I also use roses, both fresh flowers and the petals once the flowers have faded.
Boneset is so named for Boneset fever, which is a virulent strain of influenza causing extreme stress to the lungs and respiratory tract. Boneset is anti-inflammatory; immune boosting; a febrifuge (cools fever); and is helpful for colds and flu, not only Bonebreak/Boneset Fever, aka Dengue Fever.
Jerusalem Artichoke is used as a folk remedy for diabetes and rheumatism. It’s also called Sunchoke and the tubers are eaten fresh or cooked. There are many culinary and medicinal uses for this plant but I chose her for her ability to proliferate where she is planted and for her gorgeous flowers which are so connected to the energy of the sun. Much like the beeswax candles, she helps calling the energy of sunlight into our lives.
Roses are the holiest of blooms. Their sweetness and deep connection to humanity bring them very close to us. After millennia of selective breeding, grafting, and etc, many roses would not survive the absence of humanity. We have wild roses, as well, which are not on this altar but which would grow in wild profusion without us. One of the most high vibration essentials oils is Bulgarian Rose. The holy of holies.
The stone which is central and anchors the vibration for this altar is Pink Calcite. Below I’ve shared text from this linked website, “All Calcite is a powerful cleanser and amplifier of energy. Just having Calcite in a room will clear it of all negative energies. If you are moving into a new home or office, place some Calcite around the entire space to give it a thorough energetic cleansing before moving in. It invigorates stagnant energy within the body. It acts as an amplifier of all energies, so it is especially helpful when using Reiki or any other energy-based healing practice. Calcite also holds warmth and energy, so can be charged with energy and intention for future spiritual practices.
The Pink Calcite spiritual properties help you develop deep, unwavering compassion for both yourself and others. This stone connects to the loving energy of Quan Yin and helps us cultivate unconditional love for all. If you are having a difficult relationship with someone, maybe a family member or co-worker, this crystal helps you see a situation from their point of view and enhances understanding. Pink Calcite helps the heart grow and inspire deep love and compassion for people you don’t even know. This is a great stone for encouraging works of service, charity, and selfless acts.
Pink Calcite also helps us develop deep, genuine compassion for yourself. It helps you overcome self-criticism and self-blame. If you feel that you are your own worst critic, never do anything “right,” or aren’t meeting your own expectations – Pink Calcite can help you dissolve and release those feelings that cause you to “beat yourself up.” This stone helps you to be gentler to yourself and learn to be your own best friend.”
Himalayan Salt candle holders. I use these to support in the energetic clearing work I do each morning. As the warmth of the candle flame activates the salt, I clear and pray and feel supported. Salt is amazing for absorbing negative energies and I ofter leave little bowls of salt around the house for this purpose, or create a small altar for a working in which circles of salt serve a purpose. Salt is also of the Earth element and holds a grounding energy for the prayers. Amazing stuff!
Now that the altar is anchored at my home, the stones that have been encoded for each person on the altar rest in a Fenton custard dish. I think it is beautiful and am fascinated by it’s black light glow. It is also known as Uranium glass or Vaseline glass.
The large, round, crystal ball is my anchor for the energy of the Temple of Ascension. I am an Oracle and hold the space for the Temple’s existence in 3D and am connected to it’s etheric presence, as well.
I feel like this post, after several moves and edits, is complete for September! With so much love for you and yours, xoxo Be.

I will add you to the altar immediately and being prayers for you, or your loved ones. I feel absolutely fine about praying for people without asking them. If they don’t want the love, holding, clearing, (or if it isn’t to their highest good) their field will roll it away from them and it will go where it’s needed most.
